If your daughters are beginning to show interest in fashion, jewelry, and other accessories, then it might start getting a little expensive for you to dress them in what they want. But not to worry; there are plenty of ways to get them the jewelry and clothes they want without letting it affect your budget. Getting them sterling silver hoop earrings and designer shoes online can be a great way to save money. You and your daughters can look for hours online for the accessories they want and you’ll save quite a bit compared to going to a mall. Malls and department stores are very overpriced simply because they have to be in order to stay in business.

If you decide to spend some quality time with your kids by shopping online, you’ll get those silver charm bracelets they want without spending extra money and being bothered by noisy salesmen. Embracing technology and realizing that it can save you money and better your life is the first step to learning how to find perfect products for the perfect price.

The next time your daughters ask for a cubic zirconia tennis bracelet, try to teach them the value of online shopping. It will save you a lot of money in the long run.

Nuptial Norms

A princess diamond engagement rings, cluster-set diamond rings, mixed gem custom engagement rings – they all make fabulous symbols of devotion, intention and commitment. But why are we in the west so set in the tradition of left hand, fourth finger?

Spanish and German newly-weds adorn the fourth finger of course… but on the right hand. Traditional Japanese couples rarely wear wedding rings at all (historically a woman would dye her teeth black to denote her status as married!) however the more contemporary amongst younger generations enjoy the fashions of western wedding ceremonies and traditions.

But the million pound question is surely… why THAT finger? The answer lies largely in the preconceived ideas of commitment, of what it truly means to marry someone and the connotations placed upon that finger by history. To marry someone is to commit and to love, from this simple foundation arose the connection with the heart, and subsequently ancient western beliefs concluded a relationship between the heart, blood flow and the fourth finger on the left hand.

It’s not only the ancient west that professed the marital significance of that special fourth finger. Ancient China formulated the following rationalisation – place your palms together and fold in your two middle fingers (keep all of your other fingers touching their twin), try to separate the two ring fingers and you’ll have a tough job! This is said to represent the love and commitment that binds a husband and wife together through life.

For the most part the tradition is one borne of preference and practicality. For some the necessity of keeping their left hand free from accessories like wedding rings is something job related or perhaps an issue of physical limitation. Whatever the reason, if you don’t like doing it the western way, why not go spanish?
